Yearning To Be Older
When I was a child I yearned to be
older like my mom and
my hard working
dad.
This feeling stayed with me until I
realized I was aging a whole
caboodle, not a
tad.
Before I knew what was happening,
I noticed aging traits
for all to openly
see,
If only I had not wished to be older
at an early age, perhaps
younger I would now
be.
