Quatrain of Walking Backward

Walking Backward - let me catch up

I began walking backward in an
attempt to have my slower
self catch up with
me,

If I don't gradually cut my desires,
I will lose all contact with
wishes I have set
free.

I am not sure why, the parts of life
I don't like, go a little
faster than those I
love,

But slowing down to catch up with
my soul should be easy if I
give myself a backward
shove.
