Stand by the love of your
life through thick
or thin: be
glad,

Do not stand by the love
of your life through
good or
bad.

It is all right to hold up
your end of the bargain
when life goes
awry,

But it is certainly another
when morals fail and your
lover becomes too rotten
to dignify.
