Quatrain of Soul Sadness

Soul Sadness - should have listened

I have tried to live a life
of favorable morals,
but on occasion I
have haphazardly
failed,

God didn't forget all my
squandered opportunities
nor my sinful
weaknesses He
unveiled.

I am now being punished
by being allowed to grow
old, just to remind
me - I was an evil
rover.

God talked to me when I
was young, if only I had
listened instead of
staring straight
ahead with my
eyes glazed
over.
