Quatrain of Million to One

Million to one - poor odds

O contemplation! when God
made heaven and earth
to last for millions of
years,

Was there a reason He resolved
that I shall be around for
just one or two
beers?

It appears rather odd, to my
mind, that the proportions
are a trillion hours to
one,

After all, I am a living likeness
of the Lord, and the earth is
just a ball floating near a
sun.
