Quatrain of A Child's Dream

A Child's Dream - its never gone away

I searched my childhood for
the adult in me, hoping
to find life
fair.

I found I haven't grownup,
my notions are selfish,
my circles are
square.

I once looked to adulthood
with envy and inspiration
but lost all
certitude,

I'm just a child looking for
truth with too many beliefs
that constantly
intrude.
