Quatrain of Little Gap

Little Gap - not much difference
between rich and poor

Contrary to popular belief,
there is little discrepancy
between rich and
poor,

Everyone drives a car, has
plenty to eat, and finds
friends they can
endure.

Once, the poor stood out
like trees in a forest, they
wore rags and smelled of
beer,

But in this modern age, the
poorest among us alight
as rich as anyone,
rich & poor live
austere.
