Quatrain of Land Claim

Man the animal

A presumptive thought gives
credence to the idea that
the land belongs
to the creatures
that roam
upon.

The reality is the land belongs to
whomever stakes a claim, it's
been that away since
man and his
horse came
along

Dreaming the earth is sacred sod
doesn't cut the idea down
to a size to contemplate
what is good for
the animal
dominion

What really matters is the earth
is where God put man,
next to all creatures,
without any
dissenting
opinion.
