Quatrain of Kleptomnesia

Kleptomnesia - a thought I thought
was mine

Thinking I generated an idea I
believed was acutely novel,
I patted myself
on the
back,

In fact, it wasn't my idea at all,
I stole it straight from
your mind without
heaps of
flack.

I didn't mean to steal, I simply
forgot I ran across your
train of thought
and didn't
remember,

If I have hurt you in any way,
too bad, the next great
thought you have I
won't just plagiarize,
I will dismember.
