Hard Life - it certainly is

I saw your ear swell when you
heard life is much harder
than you've been
taught.

As a child you were told not to
concern yourself with sorrow
you will forever
wrought.

Your parents were reluctant to
teach manners, they believed
you would resent
them,

Instead of learning how hard it
is to shrink life's ears, you
cruise along hard headed because your parents
wouldn't
condemn.
