Going Backward - shame

Sometimes, it honestly seems I
am going backward even
though my mind
is not in
reverse,

The gains I refreshingly garner often
vanish because my dreams
are sprinkled with
the devil's
curse.

The wisdom I acquire as I travel
down life's road, doesn't
always accumulate,
much falls off as
I go,

Yes, I am going backward as I
learn more, because the
more I learn the more
there is to
know.
