ring of the phone was
eagerly awaited and
exciting,

You could go for weeks not hearing
from a friend when, "ring",
the noise was instantly
inviting.

Talk wasn't cheap and the lines
very busy, so you would quickly
get right to caller's
mark,

Nearly always, it wasn't a call just
to pass the time, it was a
