Yorktown Disciple
Quatrain of Approximating

Approximating - maybe close

The past is never really
known because our
memories are
never the
same,

How you remember what
happens may be wild,
what I remember
may be
tame.

We can approximate what
might have gone on,
our foresight
easily
misread.

It would be better not to have
the living interpret the
past, let it be
done by the
dead.
